MiniPlayer

MiniPlayer is a well known extension that has come to Mac after its successful initial version for iOS. It's a really simple tool that allows you to control the playback of your favorite music in the easiest way possible.

This application, which synchs up to services like iTunes, Spotify, and Rdio, can be really useful if you ever want to control what you listen to with just a few buttons that allow you to pause the song you're listening to, skip to the next song, or go back in your playlist or in the songs you've been searching for.

Additionally, the MiniPlayer application also includes the album art of the song you are listening to at the moment. This appears next to a combination of colors that changes automatically and depending on the colors used in the design of the album art.

MiniPlayer can run in the background or on top of your desktop so that you can have optimal control of what you're listening to. Additionally, the developers have announced that newer versions of the program will contain support for other music players via the use of plug-ins.
